Privacy

Only the German version is legally binding.

Protecting your personal data matters to me. This page explains which data is processed when you visit this website, for what purpose, and what rights you have.

In short: this website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking services, and loads content from Google (maps) only after you explicitly click.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Dr. med. vet. Sabine Sahr
c/o Tierärztliche Gemeinschaftspraxis Quandt und Bracke
An den Wurthen 26
17489 Greifswald, Germany

Phone: +49 3834 504672
Email: tierauge@gmail.com

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub B.V., Prins Bernhardplein 200, 1097 JB Amsterdam, Netherlands, and GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

When you visit the website, GitHub automatically processes technical data sent by your browser. This includes in particular your IP address, which according to GitHub is logged and stored for security purposes; the date and time of the request, the page requested, the browser type and the referring page may also be recorded. This data is technically necessary to deliver the website and to keep it secure and stable. I have no access to these logs myself and do not combine them with other data.

The legal basis is my legitimate interest in providing the website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Data may be transferred to the USA in the process. GitHub is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, on the basis of which the European Commission has found an adequate level of data protection (Art. 45 GDPR). More information: GitHub privacy statement.

The connection to this website is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS).

3. Fonts

The font used on this website is served locally from this website’s own web space. No connection is made to servers of Google or any other font provider.

On the homepage and on the “Locations & contact” page you can display maps from Google Maps. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

The maps are only loaded once you click “Load map”. Before that, no data is sent to Google. After the click, your browser connects to Google’s servers, transmitting among other things your IP address, the page visited and technical browser information to Google. Google may also use cookies or similar technologies. If you are signed in to a Google account, Google can link the visit to your account.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). Your consent is not stored and only applies to the current page view; on your next visit the maps again load only after a click. You can withdraw it for the future at any time by reloading the page.

Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA in the process. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). More information: Google privacy policy.

Alternatively, you can use the “Open in Google Maps” link to view the locations directly on Google; in that case only Google’s terms apply.

5. Settings stored locally

If you switch the colour scheme (light/dark) or choose how the overview in the “Wissen” area is displayed, this setting is saved in your browser’s local storage (“localStorage”) so that it is kept for your next visit. This information never leaves your device, is not transmitted to me or to third parties and contains no personal data. You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

The legal basis is Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (strictly necessary for a service you have explicitly requested).

6. Contact by email or phone

If you contact me by email or phone, I process the information you provide (e.g. name, contact details, your request and, where applicable, information about your animal) in order to answer your enquiry and, if necessary, arrange an appointment.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry concerns an examination or treatment, and otherwise my legitimate interest in answering your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). I delete your information as soon as it is no longer needed for this purpose, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

I use the Gmail service of Google Ireland Limited (address above) for email. Emails sent to me are therefore processed on Google’s servers; a transfer to Google LLC in the USA cannot be ruled out (certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework). Unencrypted emails can also, in principle, be read by third parties in transit. For confidential information, please use the phone instead.

This website contains links to other websites, e.g. to the partner practices, to professional publications and to my Facebook page. These are plain links: only when you click a link are you taken to the other website, and only then does its operator receive data from you. The respective operator is responsible for data processing there, and their privacy notices apply.

8. Your rights

Within the limits of the law, you have the right at any time to

  • access the data I hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
  • object to processing based on my legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR),
  • withdraw any consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

To do so, simply use the contact details above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority is:

Der Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Lennéstraße 1, Schloss, 19053 Schwerin, Germany
www.datenschutz-mv.de

9. Changes

I update this privacy policy when the website or the legal requirements change. The version published here applies.
