Breeding examinations

Recognised eye examinations for breeding animals help to detect hereditary eye diseases early – before they lead to clinical signs. This benefits the individual animal as well as responsible breeding decisions.

Procedure

We examine individual breeding animals or entire litters according to the recognised DOK/ECVO guidelines, including examination of the drainage angle (gonioscopy) for breeds at risk. For breed clubs, group appointments with several animals are possible by arrangement, also outside our practice on request. We are also happy to advise you in general on hereditary eye diseases in your breed.

Gonioscopy: in some breeds, examination of the drainage angle is an integral part of the breeding examination.
